KPVG (Hampton Roads Executive) Jet Blast 26-30 April

Airport:  5172 West Military Highway, Hangar 2.  Chesapeake VA 23321

KPVG has runway 10-28 at 5350 x 100ft.  Multiple GPS approaches to both runways and an ILS to runway 10.  Multiple tall radio towers located north of the field. 

Airport is uncontrolled, with class C/D airspace to the east and no restrictions to the west.  Training areas lie 5-10 west of the field with numerous outlying airports in the event of an emergency.  Two block; 6-10K and 11-16K as needed.

Rental cars:

To arrange for your rental cars, please call Enterprise at 757-539-7900.  This is our local Enterprise office.  You will need to tell them you want your car at Hampton Roads Executive Airport, they will have it delivered there.

50 cent per gallon fuel discount has been negotiated and fuelers are familiar with L-39 operations. 

I will have N2 and O2 available as well as our in-house A & P to address any minor issues that may come up. 

We will be working out of our Forgotten Heroes Foundation hangar with plenty of space to brief.  We have additional briefing space reserved as well in the terminal building right next door.  This may serve as a good debrief area.

Lodging / area

Two lodging areas are recommended.  The first is what’s called the Town Center Area in Virginia Beach.   The Westin Hotel is centrally located in Town Center and has numerous dining options within walking distance.  The drive from the Westin to PVG is about 25-30 minutes.  The other areas is called Greenbrier in Chesapeake and also has numerous dining as well as shopping.  Drive time to the airport is about 20-25 minutes from this location.  The other option may be the Virginia Beach Oceanfront with a drive time of about 35-40 minutes.  This may be an option for you if you want to stay on the beach and bring family.  Due to an event this weekend called “Something in the Water”, block reservations are not possible.  You will need to act soon and book your rooms as soon as you can.  Rooms in VA Beach and Norfolk will fill up fast and it will be busy there, Chesapeake should be ok.  Below is a list of hotels that I have had folks stay at before.

VA Beach Town Center - Westin

Norfolk - Hilton on Main Street

Chesapeake - Delta Hotel; Courtyard by Marriott; Fairfield Inn; Residence Inn and Aloft.  (Greenbrier area, likely the best and most convenient option).

Wednesday arrival.  Please shoot me a text (757-618-3226) with your expected arrival time.  I will be there from 1000-1600 to catch you.  If you will be later than 1600, the FBO will park you.  Please give them a heads up also at 757-465-0260.The large rectangle ramp below just left of the building labeled Hampton Roads Executive Airport is our parking ramp and just to the right is the Up and Ready / Forgotten Heroes Hangar.
