Mt Rushmore Photo Shoot / Formation Clinic
Fellow Members,
We have been working diligently with the FAA and the US National Park Service in reference to this one-time only historic event. Based on information we have received from these agencies this event is now scheduled for September 16th - 19th due to airspace coordination and other factors beyond our control. Because of this we are cancelling our Statue of Liberty event that was schedule for the Labor Day weekend. We are in the process of receiving waivers to coordinate our photo flights on Friday, September 17th and Saturday, September 18th. Sunday, September 19th will be an alternate photo day.
CJAA will be hosting this event which will also serve as a formation clinic. Photo flights will take place early in the morning and then again in the evening with times to be determined. You must register on the CJAA website by August 1st to be included in the flights and there will be no charge for this event. CJAA will also be providing lunch and dinner at no cost to our current members. If you plan on bringing a guest they will be required to pay a $350.00 registration fee.
Members who wish to fly in formation will be required to have a current FAST Card appropriate to the position flown or have a CJAA approved instructor with them. Otherwise, those who are not currently carded will be able to have single ship photo opportunities as well during the flights. We will have very specific and enforceable guidelines assigned to us for the flights and safety will be priority one.
We are also in the process of negotiating a room block for reduced hotel rates and an FBO fuel discount. Details to follow...
